Grand Prix Drivers Association chairman Alexander Wurz admits he is surprised by Formula Ones rejection of the proposed Halo cockpit protection device for 2017.On Thursday the F1 Strategy Group unanimously voted against?introducing the Halo design for 2017, instead agreeing that the device needs further evaluation and testing. Although there has been no official statement from the FIA -- who have been keen to push through head protection in time for next season -- it appears that it will not be introduced until at least 2018.Wurz told Sky Sports F1: They have started the development on this in 2010 so its not just happened overnight and they presented this Halo solution as a workable first go as additional head protection. In their opinion it is a better system than anything than anything we have at the moment and this is how it was presented to the drivers just a week ago, so Im surprised of this U-turn, to go away from what the experts recommend. Already its in a design process of the race cars with the technical guides of the teams, to now step away and delay by one year, Im surprised by that.Wurz -- who competed in 69 grand prix between 1997 and 2007 at Benetton, McLaren and Williams -- dismissed that F1 has lost some of its appeal due to its approach towards safety and says he sees no reason for the sport to have an element of danger.Lets say the most popular year of Formula One in 2009 with the highest global viewing figures, there is one clear graph, popularity goes up and is stronger. The racing was close, was competitive but there is another graph which is the opposite trend, which is injuries and fatalities, it just went down. So I see no coloration at any point that we need to have dangerous racing where drivers are endangered for the popularity. The guys want to see emotion, hero to zero moments, people spinning, making mistakes, a crash yes is part of such emotion but if the safety experts say we can save a life better, I think it takes nothing away from courage. If you go through Eau Rouge with 320 [km/h] you dont think I have this Halo thing above me and therefore I do it flat, because the impact hurts anyway. Cheap Air Max 97 Mens . But its really emotional as well, Moncada said through a translator after the World rallied to beat the United States 11-3 on Sunday. He no doubt was going to share that with his parents in Cuba.I hope my parents could watch the game, he said. His sunglasses flew off.I really did not think a lot before attempting that catch, he said. First I saw the fly was going wide. `Im not going to catch that, I said. But I kept running, and then I just jumped. I hit my leg, but the most important thing was to get that out.Padres farmhand Manuel Margot of the World team reached above the fence in right-center to rob Carson Kelly (Cardinals) of a home run in the sixth.I definitely rank it as the best iin my career.dddddddddddd First impressions are everything, and if the fans have a good first impression of me, hopefully I can keep it up, Margot said. Sisco has one homer in 251 at-bats with Bowie.Bregman, of Triple-A Fresno in the Houston system, tripled in the first, doubled and scored in the third and singled in the fourth. He fouled out in the seventh and struck out to end the game.Everyone was, `You got to go for it! You got to go for it! You better be swinging at everything! Bregman said. If I would have walked or if I would have struck out looking, they would have been furious. The World closed the gap to 3-2 in the sixth before Josh Naylor (Marlins) was thrown out by David Dahl (Rockies) trying to score the tying run from second on a single by Carlos Asuaje (Padres) to end the inning.World starter Alex Reyes of Triple-A Memphis (Cardinals) hit 101 mph. He allowed two hits in 1 2/3 scoreless innings while striking out four and walking one.Joe Musgrove (Astros), who pitched for Grossmont High in suburban El Cajon, threw a perfect first inning for the United States. The teams wore jerseys in the mustard and mud color scheme the Padres used in the 1980s.Hoffmans staff was heavy with ex-Padres, including Fred McGriff, Garry Templeton, Billy Bean and Mark Loretta, plus San Diegan and former big leaguer Mark Prior, the Padres minor league pitching coordinator.
