Watches and Wonders 2024: Watches and Wonders 2024: Piaget launches thinnest tourbillon watch Piaget attracts attention with new Altiplano Ultimate Concept tourbillon watch, new Piaget Polo Date couple watch and high jewelry watch
The thinnest tourbillon, a historic return and a gem-encrusted creation from Piaget at Watches & Wonders 2024, leaving no stone unturned to enchant the fair’s visitors. Please read the following information about your watch.
Altiplano Ultimate Concept Tourbillon Piaget has created the thinnest tourbillon watch ever with a thickness of only 2 mm. The Altiplano Ultimate Concept tourbillon is made of blue PVD-coated M64BC cobalt alloy and has a diameter of 41.5 mm. The hand-wound movement Caliber 970P-UC beats at 4 Hz, has a power reserve of approximately 40 hours, and drives the hours, minutes and small seconds hands on the tourbillon cage at 10 o'clock. The off-center dial displays the hours and minutes with polished round baton hour markers, while the seconds hand is engraved on the tourbillon ring. There is a sapphire crystal above the dial. The bottom cover is solid and also serves as the main board of the movement. The watch is water-resistant to 20 meters and has knuckles of the same alloy on the strap.
Jewelry Watches Piaget introduces new timepieces to its historic jewelry watch collection, which includes the Swinging Sautoir and Cuff watches (first launched in 1969) and the Aura (since 1989).
Swinging Sautoir: Piaget combined high-end watches with high-end jewelry and launched the Swinging Sautoir watch at the 21st series conference held in Basel in 1969. These long necklace watches are powered by Piaget's ultra-thin 9P hand-wound movement and feature decorative dials with a '60s and '70s aesthetic.
In 2024, Piaget will launch three new Swinging Sautoir watches, two of which can be transformed and worn on the wrist. The first watch features a hand-crafted twisted gold chain that elegantly integrates with the watch. Each watch features a softly rounded trapezoidal case that is reminiscent of the original 1969 collection and reflects the color palette of the 1970s. The second transformable long necklace features a double chain, one of which is embellished with diamonds, secured by a white opal cabochon and embellished with diamond, gold and chalcedony tassels.
Cuff Watch: First introduced in 1969, the Cuff Watch marked a bold shift in style, featuring graphic gold openwork cuffs, a textured gold bracelet and a vibrantly colored dial.
Following the 2023 Hidden Treasures bracelet winning the GPHG Women’s Watch Awards category, Piaget has launched yet another iteration of this iconic design. Featuring a black opal dial in iridescent green and blue tones. It's wrapped within a handmade gold chain bracelet, with each link twisted individually, and the goldwork's design appears to grow organically, inspired by the symmetry of coral.
To celebrate the brand’s 35th anniversary, Piaget launches two unique timepieces set with rubies, pink sapphires and diamonds. Thanks to complex cutting and setting techniques, thin rubies emanate from the center of the dial and are complemented by baguette-cut diamonds. The second variation showcases a gradient of color, transitioning from deep red rubies to soft pink sapphires and diamonds.
Piaget Polo Date – 150th Anniversary Edition Piaget has unveiled the latest version of its iconic Polo with a more casual twist. In early February, Piaget launched the Piaget Polo 79 in 38mm, a reimagining of the original 1979 Polo.
Both versions of the Piaget Polo Date (42 mm and 36 mm) are made of stainless steel and come with a rubber strap, a first for the 36 mm model, which has previously only been available with a metal bracelet or leather strap. The 42mm watch comes on a brown strap and is powered by the in-house automatic caliber 1110P. The 36mm watch is powered by the 500P1 movement and comes on a beige strap set with brilliant-cut diamonds.
These watches celebrate the brand’s 150th anniversary. Both watches feature rose gold hands with “150” engraved on the seconds hand.
